Visit to Mysore.
Then one evening, over a casual conversation during their commute home, Gowri mentioned that her parents were planning a trip to Mysore for a cousin’s wedding.
“Oh, that’s nice,” Eeshwar said, navigating through the evening traffic. “It’s wedding season now, isn’t it?”
When they reached her house, her father was watering the plants in their small garden. He looked up as they approached, greeting Eeshwar with the warm familiarity that had developed over the past few weeks of shared dinners and temple visits.
“Eeshwar, didn’t you mention that your parents live in Mysore?” he asked, setting down his watering can.
“Yes, uncle. They live in Kuvempu Nagar.”
“Oh, wonderful! We’re going there this weekend for a wedding. Maybe we could call them if we need any directions or recommendations for good places to have a coffee?”
Without much thought, caught up in the spirit of helpfulness that had always been part of his nature, Eeshwar shared his parents’ phone number.
