A Journey That Started on a Saturday – Chapter 5

Gowri getting to know Eeshwar.

One morning, as part of preparing for the annual Hanuman Jayanti celebration, they were both deep cleaning the premises along with others, when Gowri casually asked, “So where are you working? I know you’re in software, but which company?”

“A mid-sized MNC in Bellandur,” he replied, threading another flower onto the string. “Good team, decent work culture. Actually, we’re growing quite a bit and are on a bit of a hiring spree right now, growing fast.”

Her eyes lit up with interest, and she paused cleaning for a moment and looked at him. “Really? What kind of roles are they looking for? I’ve been thinking about switching. My current company is fine, but I’m looking for something more dynamic, you know? More growth opportunities, larger company, getting to learn newer technology, etc.”

“What’s your background?” he asked, genuinely curious. He’d been wondering about her academic background & professional life but had never found the right moment to ask.

“Computer science engineering, three years of experience in web development. I’m good with frontend technologies, and I’ve been learning some backend stuff too.”

“Send me your resume,” he said without a second thought. “I’ll talk to my manager. We need good frontend developers, and from what I’ve seen of how you organize things here, you’d fit right in.”

Her face broke into a radiant smile that made his heart skip. “Really, Eeshwar? You’d do that for me?”
“Of course. Why wouldn’t I help a friend?”
